The Royal Borough of Greenwich Council recently selected JBS Equipment Ltd as their chosen supply for updating the vehicle test bays in the GS PLUS Ltd’s Thamesmead workshops.

They operate a fleet of over 300 vehicles, private car, vans , mini buses, school buses, multi axle dust carts and coaches.

To cover all aspects of the fleet we initially supplied and installed a Class IV & VII ATL Facility from the Liftmaster range of garage equipment. Supplied with a 6 metre platformed four post lift this MOT bay handles all their cars, vans, minibuses and LGV vehicles. Now fully operational, they are also open to the public and local businesses, offering full MOT facilites.

Once this the ATL bay was fully operational, JBS Equipment Ltd, along with Liftmaster Ltd, started the installation of a V.O.S.A  A.T.F. Truck and Bus Test Facility.

The fleet engineer, Mr Grant Williams decided that whilst they had the full Class IV & VII bay, it would be an opportunity missed if they did not include the ability to test Class IV & VII vehicles on the A.T.F. lane. This means during free periods, if the Class IV and VII lane is in use, instead of waiting in line, the vehicles can be tested in the ATF Bay.

Due to open mid March 2014, the ATF bay will handle primarily coaches, trucks and  trailers, not only from their own fleet but vehicles from local hauliers, transport and warehousing companies, local coach and bus operators.

The facility will not only offer GS Plus considerable time savings, driver/fitter salarys, fuel costs, toll fees and wear and tear on the vehicles but also will contribute heavily to saving on carbon gases emissions. Something that Greenwich Council passionately support.
